Bird nest prevention refers to technology that stops the thread from tangling or bunching up at the start of a sewing seam, often called a “bird’s nest.”
Example: Instead of the top and bobbin threads creating a messy knot on the underside of the fabric at the beginning of a stitch (which usually requires manual trimming), the machine automatically pulls the thread tight or trims it extremely close to the fabric, resulting in a clean, flat start without any excess thread pile-up.
